Yohge Matsuda

a minimal aesthetic 2024

Those who live in Asia are accustomed to its humidity. This sense of humidity has given rise to unique colours and shapes that have become part of everyday culture. Yohge’s creative activities are an attempt to visualise and re-express the humid shapes and colours and the atmosphere that are buried in Asian daily life.

After studying art theory at university Yohge started painting using abstract expressionism. He uses stucco, rusted iron powder, deteriorated Washi paper and natural sand.
